MMM...old clothes for dinner?Ropa vieja is Spanish for old clothes. It doesn't sound appetizing in English. these are the basics, not pictured are the olives and green peas
salt and pepper a flank steak, and brown it in some olive oil in a cast iron dutch oven

add: 1/2 c sofrito*(found in the frozen/Latin foods section) diced onion/pepper (about 1/2c each)1 large can diced tomatoes, 2 diced carrots, dash or three of adobo seasoning 1 tbs capers, 3 tbs of green sliced olives w pimentos, Cover and simmer 2hrs over med-low heat. After that, add 1/2 cup of frozen green peas. Shred meat with 2 forks.



Serve with black beans and rice. Or whatever else the suits your fancy! Enjoy!
